Our Faculty & Staff

All of our teachers are fully credentialed. Several times a month, all teachers participate in school-wide, grade-level, and cross grade-level professional development meetings.

Our teachers and staff provides a nurturing environment to support both creative and cognitive development. Our teachers are highly skilled, creative, and passionate about what they teach. In addition to our 17 classroom teachers, we have part-time staff that includes a school librarian, a PE coach, a school psychologist, a learning support professional, a resources specialist, and a speech therapist. Sunnyside PTA attracts several artists-in-residence for semester long rotations, including a visual artist, poet, dancer, aerial choreographer, vocal music teacher, and instrumental music teachers. Through the PTA, we also have an English Learner specialist, math specialist, and garden educator.

Teachers are frequently assisted in the classroom by student teachers and parent volunteers. We are fortunate to have close ties to San Francisco State University’s teaching credential program and to City College of San Francisco, and our children benefit from the energy and ideas of these educators-in-training.
